Our Philosophy

Established in 1996, Basil Olive Oil Products Limited is a family-run business based outside of Vancouver, Canada. Led by owners, Basil and Helen (Eleni) Koutalianos, the company imports certified organic food products from their single estate farm in Greece.

While Greece is the third largest producer of olive oil in the world, few people know this. Basil felt his Golden Olive Eleni® certified organic extra virgin olive oil would change that very thing. “Greece is blessed with a perfect climate and rich soil for the cultivation of olive trees. Truly the quality of its extra virgin olive oil has no equal. Greek olive oil is the link between God and man,” says Basil passionately. And so, the Koutalianos' bring their award-winning and great tasting products to the North American market for all to enjoy.

It was our heartfelt belief that everyone deserves to eat well. Olive oil is very much a part of our Greek culture and something we wanted to share with our customers. We made a conscientious decision to produce high quality food through organic farming methods with a focus on sustainability and great taste. A simple philosophy but one without compromise.

Basil and Helen are also huge advocates in giving back to the community. Over the years, they have supported worthy causes and organizations like Farm Folk City Folk, Feast of Fields, Friends in Need Food Bank Society of Maple Ridge, Salvation Army, Friends for Life Society, MADD, Vancouver Island's Esperanza Shantymen and the Certified Organic Associations of BC.
