Greek sea salt. The essential spice of life!Sea salt is a broad term that refers to unrefined salt from the ocean or sea. Traditionally, sea salt is harvested by channeling ocean or sea water into natural pools, rock formations or large clay trays. It is then evaporated by the sun and wind and collected for consumption.Sea salt tends to be less refined than table salt. For this reason, it is high in minerals such as iron, magnesium, calcium, potassium, manganese, zinc and iodine. Our sea salt is from the Greek isles and is bright white in colour (thanks to the sun). It is a coarse salt high in salinity (or salty flavour) without a heavy mineral taste.
Sea salt is thought to be healthier and more flavourful than table salt. Sea salt adds unique flavour to your gourmet creations, steamed vegetables, grilled fish and meats, and is perfect for pickling and canning. It can also be used in thalassatherapy and spas for relaxation purposes and to invigorate and tone the skin.
